Third blogskin design summary

September blogskin.

It is almost the end of the September month. Before I change my blogskin, I will give a little summary of my third blogskin design.

The theme I use is Clean Home.

Taken from WordPress Theme.

From my previous blogskin, you will notice that I tend to use traditional two column layout. I like to have a sidebar to display my social media icons and my top posts.

This theme also offers a semi-transparent body which allows me to showcase my patterned background. The bold header makes my blog name pops. I set the same colour from my background on my blog name header. Moreover, there is a navigation menu which fits nicely beside the header.

By the way, the theme provides a cool header widget area. Not only you can insert highlighted text or bio you like, you can use it as a place to display your photo gallery like below.

Or you can insert the “Top Posts & Pages” widget featuring your popular posts in image grid. It is a like a free alternative of the plugins you install for your self-hosted version.

I really like this theme. It can be customised in so many ways. There are even four different colour schemes to choose from. You do not need to spend big bucks to customise your blog design in WordPress. All you need is your imagination and courage to try.

Do share with me your favourite WordPress theme and describe how you customise to make it stand out.
